João Pedro Oliveira

Composer João Pedro Oliveira holds the Corwin Endowed Chair in Composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He studied organ performance, composition, and architecture in Lisbon. He obtained a doctorate in Music from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His work spans operas, orchestral compositions, chamber music, electroacoustic music, and experimental video.

"Moving Cities" presents a synthetic view of a city with rapid transformation over time. Cities are like veins—streets, roads, and buildings that move and transform over time.
