Yan Xiangning

Yan Xiangning, born in 2000, graduated from the Department of Digital Media at the Beijing Film Academy in 2023. His work currently focuses on surveillance capitalism and the philosophy of artificial intelligence. Through a wide range of multimedia formats, including experimental games, virtual reality, animation, as well as installations, Yan expresses his critical reflection on contemporary media society. His works have been exhibited and screened at film festivals in Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Xi'an, and Utah. This is his first exhibition in Spain.

In the context of the current technological development paradigm, and based on concepts like surveillance capitalism, "Heimdall Land" (2023) presents a scenario where security, comfort, and self-knowledge are offered at the expense of consumption logics that transform life into a data accumulation process.
